Share to Teams
Quick start
Connect Teams once in Settings → Integrations → Microsoft → Connect. Once connected, you can automatically send insights from NEXT (e.g. Highlights, Clusters, or Chats) into a Teams channel where your team already collaborates.
Why integrate with Microsoft Teams?
NEXT turns customer conversations into evidence-backed insights. Sharing those insights into Microsoft Teams ensures they appear directly in the collaboration hub used by Product, CX, and GTM teams - alongside ongoing discussions and decisions.
By posting insights automatically, Teams channels stay up to date with real customer signals, without manual copy-pasting or context loss:
- What NEXT creates: A message posted into a Microsoft Teams channel via an Automation.
- What’s included: Insight text generated by NEXT (e.g. from a Highlight, Cluster, or automated Chat), plus links back to the source in NEXT.
- Where it lands: The Microsoft Teams channel you configure in the Automation.
Install the Microsoft Teams app (one-time)
⚠️ Important The NEXT Microsoft Teams app is not yet listed in the Microsoft Teams App Store. Installation is done by uploading a custom app package (ZIP).
Step 1: Download the app package
Download the Microsoft Teams app package (ZIP): teamsPackage.zip
Step 2: Upload the app to Microsoft Teams
- Open Microsoft Teams
- Go to Apps
- Select Manage your apps
- Click Upload an app
- Choose Upload a custom app
- Upload the ZIP file you downloaded
Microsoft provides detailed instructions here: 👉 https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoftteams/platform/concepts/deploy-and-publish/apps-upload
Depending on your organization, uploading custom apps may require approval from a Teams administrator.
Step 3: Add the app to a Team
Uploading the app to Microsoft Teams is not enough. You must also add the NEXT app to each Team where Automations should post messages.
- Open Microsoft Teams
- Go to Teams
- Find the Team where you want NEXT to post messages
- Click ⋯ (More options) next to the Team name
- Select Manage team
- Open the Apps tab
- Click Add an app
- Select the NEXT app and add it to the Team
Once added, Automations in NEXT can post messages to the default channel of that Team.
Note: Depending on your organization’s policies, adding apps to a Team may require approval from a Microsoft Teams administrator.

- Save and enable the Automation
From now on, NEXT automatically posts insights into the selected Teams channel.
Troubleshooting

Issue: I can’t upload the app ZIP Your organization may block custom app uploads. Ask a Teams admin to allow custom apps or upload it centrally for the tenant.
Issue: Messages don’t appear in the channel Check that:
- The selected channel still exists
- The connected Microsoft account has permission to post in that channel
- The Automation is enabled
