NEXT can support users by automatically assigning tags to highlights. This feature ensures accurate and relevant tagging of highlights based on specified search terms, enhancing the organization and management of your content.

Assign Tags via Search Terms

To automatically assign tags, go to the tags settings dialog, open the tag, and enter a search term (or multiple comma-separated search terms). NEXT will then tag all highlights where the search term exactly matches any of the following fields: title, description, or quoted text.

If you change the search term, NEXT will update the tag assignments accordingly. Highlights that match the new term will have the tag added, while highlights that no longer match will have the tag removed. This dynamic updating allows you to experiment with different search terms to find the most relevant ones. Additionally, the tag will be applied to all future highlights that match the search term.

Manual Tag Assignment

Users can also manually assign the search-based tag to specific highlights.

Note: If the search term is changed, any manual assignments of this tag will be overwritten. This ensures that tag assignments remain consistent with the specified search terms.

If a highlight multiple tags, only the search-based tag might be removed. All other tags will stay as they are.
