Quick start
Connect Slack once in Settings → Integrations → Slack → Connect. Then, from any Thread, Highlight, or Cluster, click Share → Share to Slack → choose Channel or DM → Share. This pushes customer insights—text plus the video evidence—into the team’s Slack workflow, so Product, CX, and GTM can decide and act faster.
Why integrate with Slack?
NEXT AI turns customer conversations into insights with evidence. Sharing to Slack moves those insights—text plus a link to the video source—into the channels where teams already collaborate and decide. Slack channels are designed to bring the right people, tools, and context together, so signals from Threads/Highlights/Clusters can drive faster, shared decision-making.
What NEXT AI creates: A message in the selected Slack channel or DM.
What’s included: Your insight text plus a link to the video evidence in NEXT AI. Slack may unfurl the link to show a preview, depending on workspace settings.
Where it lands: The channel/DM you choose at share time.
Connect Slack (one-time)
Slack connects to your personal NEXT AI account (not to a single teamspace).
In NEXT AI, click your profile photo (top right) → Settings
Open Integrations → Slack
Click Connect → sign in to your Slack workspace → Allow
Back in NEXT aI, the Slack card shows
Connected
Share to Slack (highlights, chats, clusters)
Open the item (Thread / Highlight / Cluster)
Click Share → Share to Slack
Choose a Channel or DM, optionally add a message
Click Share — NEXT AI sends the text (e.g., highlight description or chat) with the video reel so every insight links back to its source.
Tip
Make a dedicated #customer-insights channel so decisions center on real user evidence. Want to automate the flow of information from NEXT AI to Slack? Use Automations to auto-post new Clusters into Slack.
Troubleshooting
Slack doesn’t appear in Share. Connect it first in Settings → Integrations → Slack.
Wrong Slack workspace. During connect, verify the Slack URL you’re logging into (switch if needed).
No permission to post in a channel. Ask a Slack admin for access to that channel or choose a different channel/DM.
Video preview missing in Slack. Link unfurling controls previews. If a link can’t be crawled or previews are restricted, Slack may not show the card—try again or check channel/app settings.
Long messages look cut off. Slack truncates very long posts; for best results keep
text
concise (Slack recommends ≤4,000 chars; hard truncation at ~40,000).
FAQ
Q: What exactly does NEXT AI send to Slack?
Insight text (from a Thread, Highlight, or Cluster) plus a link to the video evidence in NEXT AI—so your team can validate context before acting.
Q: Why share to Slack from NEXT AI instead of pasting text manually?
You move insights with evidence into Slack in one step, keeping the source-of-truth link attached for follow-up decisions in Product, CX, and GTM.
Q: Is the Slack connection per user or per teamspace?
Per teamspace. Connect in Settings → Integrations; the Share option appears across the teamspaces you can access.
Q: Can I share to a DM as well as channels?
Yes—pick a Channel or DM in the Slack picker when you share (Slack treats both as “conversations”).
Q: What exactly is posted to Slack?
The insight text (e.g., highlight description or thread responses) and a linked video so people can trace the signal back to the source in NEXT AI (permissions apply).
Q: How do previews/thumbnails appear in Slack?
Slack “unfurls” links to show rich previews. If unfurling is blocked (settings, permissions, or the link can’t be crawled), Slack may show only the link.
Q: Who can open the linked video from Slack?
Only people who have permission in NEXT AI for that item. Slack delivery doesn’t bypass NEXT AI access controls.
Q: Are there message or file size limits I should know about?
Slack recommends keeping message text short (≤4k chars); messages over ~40k are truncated. If you upload files to Slack separately, most plans allow up to 1 GB per file.
Q: What if I see “rate limited” errors from Slack?
Slack enforces Web API rate limits per method/workspace. If your workspace posts a lot (e.g., from automations), retry with backoff or stagger posts.
Q: Can we automate sharing (e.g., every new Cluster to a channel)?
Yes—use NEXT AI native automations to trigger outcomes in NEXT AI and post to Slack automatically.
Q: Can admins restrict which channels users can post to?
Slack channel permissions apply: if a user can’t post to a channel in Slack, the share will fail for that target. (Ask a Slack admin to grant access.)
Q: How do I disconnect Slack?
Go to Settings → Integrations → Slack → Disconnect.
Q: Do you import messages from Slack into NEXT AI?
No. The integration posts from NEXT AI to Slack; it doesn’t import Slack messages into your workspace.
