Sharing customer insights with your team and beyond is a great way to build empathy for your customers, create a customer-centric culture and bring the customer voice into every decision you make. And what better way to do that than via Slack?

NEXT integrates with Slack to let you seamlessly send AI chat responses, highlights or clusters to any Slack channel. Whatever you're sharing to Slack, you'll always share will combine the text (e.g. highlight description, chat) with the video (highlights).

How to set up the Slack integration

Slack needs to be connected via your personal NEXT account and is not related to a single teamspace. Therefore, setting up the integration works slightly different from integrationg with tools like Jira or Linear.

Here's how to connect Slack:

  • Log in to NEXT

  • Open the left side menu (click the hamburger icon in the top left)

  • Click on Personal settings

  • Scroll down to the Integrations settings

  • Click Slack

  • Click Connect

  • Sign in to Slack by entering your workspace URL and logging in with your Slack credentials

  • During the login process, NEXT is requesting permission to access the NEXT Slack workspace – click on Allow

  • Slack is now connected to NEXT

Note: You'll be redirected to the Personal settings page in NEXT automatically. If the integration was set up successfully, you should see a green checkmark in the Slack integration button.

How to use the Slack integration

You can share AI chat responses, highlights, and clusters to Slack. Once you've set up your Slack integration, follow these steps:

  • Navigate to whatever you want to share (e.g. a chat response or selected highlights)

  • Click Share

  • Choose Share to Slack

  • Choose the Channel to which you'd like to share it

  • [Optional] Add a custom message

  • Click Share to share it to Slack

Pro tip for Slack sharing πŸ™Œ

To make product discovery and sharing customer insights part of your workflow and rituals, we recommend setting up a dedicated Slack channel to which you share insights, for example a "Customer Insights" channel. You can use the Slack integration to send chats, highlights or clusters there, or you could even automate sharing new clusters to that Slack channel via Zapier!
