Quick start
Connect Linear once in Settings → Integrations → Linear → Connect. Then, from any Thread, Highlight, or Cluster, click Share → Share to Linear → Share. This creates a Linear issue with your insight text and a link back to the video evidence in NEXT AI, so engineering has context to act.
Why integrate with Linear?
NEXT AI captures the why; Linear captures the work. Creating Linear issues directly from NEXT AI turns validated customer signals into actionable issues—with a source link to the video/Thread—so engineers can verify context quickly and move. Linear’s issue model (title + description → assign/route) keeps triage lightweight and fast.
What NEXT AI creates: A Linear issue in your configured Linear workspace.
What’s included: Title/description built from your insight, plus a link to the video/context in NEXT AI.
Where it lands: Your Linear workspace; route/assign/label in Linear as part of triage.
Connect Linear (one-time)
In NEXT AI, click your profile photo (top right) → Settings
Open Integrations → Linear → Connect
Click New connection → enter your Linear workspace URL → Save
The Linear card shows Connected and you’re ready to share.
Note: Linear connects at the teamspace level. Set up the connection in the teamspace where you’ll be sharing from.
Create a Linear issue from NEXT AI
You can share Threads, Highlights, and Clusters to Linear.
Open the item (Thread / Highlight / Cluster)
Click Share → Share to Linear
Optionally edit the text → Share — NEXT AI creates a Linear issue with your insight text and a link back to the source (video + context) in NEXT AI.
Tips
Keep the summary line crisp; put details in the description. Linear issues are built around title + description, with team/project/assignee handled in Linear.
Name a consistent triage channel in Linear (e.g., a default team or project) and refine after creation—as your process dictates. (A single workspace URL uniquely identifies your Linear workspace.)
Troubleshooting
Linear isn’t in the Share menu. Connect it first in Settings → Integrations → Linear.
Wrong workspace URL. Re-connect using the correct Linear workspace URL (the unique URL for your Linear workspace).
Permission errors. Ensure you’re a member of the target Linear workspace/team with rights to create issues.
Bulk creation “rate limited.” If you automate lots of issues, Linear’s API enforces rate limits; stagger requests or batch over time.
FAQ
Q: What exactly does NEXT AI send to Linear?
A new Linear issue using your insight text plus a link back to the original evidence in NEXT AI, so devs can verify context before acting.
Q: Where do these issues land in Linear?
They’re created in your Linear workspace; you can then assign to teams/projects, add labels, and refine as part of your normal triage.
Q: Why create issues from NEXT AI instead of typing them in Linear?
You move customer signal + proof in one step. The source link keeps evidence traceable, reducing back-and-forth during grooming and implementation.
Q: Who can open the NEXT AI link from the Linear issue?
Only people with permission in NEXT AI for that item. Linking from Linear doesn’t bypass NEXT AI access controls.
Q: Can I choose where the issue goes (team/project) when I share?
NEXT AI creates the issue in your Linear workspace; you can route/assign inside Linear after creation to match your team’s workflow. (Name a consistent triage target if you want predictable routing.)
Q: We want to send a lot of issues from NEXT AI—anything to watch for?
Keep issues actionable and concise, and if you automate bulk creation, respect Linear’s rate limits to avoid throttling.
Q: Does NEXT AI upload the actual video to Linear?
No—NEXT AI adds a link back to the video and context so the evidence stays authoritative in NEXT AI while Linear remains your system of action.
