In this article, we'll explain how you can start NEXT's AI chat based on the highlights in one or more selected recordings. Starting the chat from all highlights of selected recordings is a great way to narrow down what the AI should consider.
Why would I start the chat from selected recordings?
You can tremendously help the AI improve the quality of its answers if you feed it the correct context. Starting the chat from selected recordings means that it will only consider the highlights from those recordings. There are multiple use cases for this, such as:
Summarizing single or selected recordings.
Only providing the chat with recordings of a specific timeframe (e.g. select all recordings from last week and let the AI chat work with those).
Only providing the chat with recordings of specific user groups (e.g. if you conducted interviews with two personas, first select all recordings from one persona, start the chat based on those, and get great answers.

How does it work?
You can start the chat from selected recordings (or highlights inside those recordings) in a couple of ways. Here's a quick overview:
While inside one Recording
Start the AI chat from a single highlight inside a Recording
Inside a recording, hover over a highlight
Click “Ask AI” to initiate a chat based on that highlight
Start typing your prompt in the chat page that appears
Start the Chat from all highlights in a Recording
Open a recording from the Library
Click “Ask AI” to initiate a chat based on all highlights of that recording
While in the Recordings Library
Start the chat from one recording
Open the “Library” → “Recordings”
Hover over a recording
Click “Ask AI” on the recording tile to start the chat
The chat will only use the highlights from that recording as input
Start the chat from multiple recordings
Open the “Library” → “Recordings”
Select one or multiple recordings
Click “Ask AI” in the bottom pop-up
The chat will only use the highlights from the recordings as input
