Change Dashboard Focus

Use dashboard focus when you want the dashboard to reflect a narrower slice of your data instead of the entire workspace.

Changing focus is useful when you want to remove an existing focus, switch to a broader view, or reset the dashboard before applying a different filter.

Before You Start

  • Open the dashboard you want to update.
  • Check the current focus so you know whether you want to clear it or replace it.

Steps

  1. Click the dashboard focus selector.
  2. Select the focus you want to explore.
  3. Click Save to apply the change.

When Should I Change Dashboard Focus?

  • When you want to broaden the dashboard back to the full workspace.
  • When the current focus no longer matches the question you are investigating.
  • When you want to clear the current scope before applying a different focus.

Tips

  • Clear the focus when the dashboard feels too narrow or overly specific.
  • Save the change before continuing so the dashboard refreshes with the new scope.
  • Review the dashboard after clearing focus to make sure the broader view matches your intent.

Example

This example opens the dashboard focus selector, clears the current focus, and saves the change.
