Background
In the world of User Experience research, the importance of data privacy cannot be overstated. This is especially true when dealing with personal data such as audio and video recordings. UX researchers often gather this type of data to gain deeper insights into user behavior and enhance the overall experience.
These audio and video recordings are forms of personal data and are protected under privacy laws such as the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). These laws mandate that such data should be handled with utmost care to protect the privacy and rights of individuals. Violations can result in severe penalties, reputational damage, and a loss of user trust. Therefore, it's crucial to have an efficient way to manage and protect this data.
In this article, we'll quickly explain how you can sanitize recordings (i.e. remove the media of a recording, which is Personal Identifiable Information) or delete recordings entirely from your library.
