Import Microsoft Q&A posts
Quick start
Connect Microsoft in NEXT, point the subscription at the supported Microsoft Q&A export file, and enable the subscription for the Teamspace that should receive the imported posts. NEXT will convert each qualifying export row into a Highlight.
Why integrate with Microsoft Q&A?
Microsoft Q&A-style content is a strong signal source because it captures what people are repeatedly confused by, blocked on, or trying to accomplish. Those questions are often richer than a simple ticket title: they include the original problem statement, the context around it, and the accepted or attempted answer.
Bringing that content into NEXT helps teams:
- identify recurring friction without reading threads one by one
- connect community or support questions to other feedback channels
- analyze both the question and the answer as part of the customer signal
What gets imported
- Object in NEXT: Highlights
- Source objects: Microsoft Q&A post exports
- Included fields: Question title, question body, answer text, tags, timestamps, and source identifiers extracted from the source export
How authentication works
This flow depends on Microsoft access to the file source that contains the exported Microsoft Q&A data. It is not a dedicated live Microsoft Q&A API sync.
How to set it up
- Connect Microsoft in NEXT with an account that can access the export file location.
- Configure the subscription so it points at the supported Microsoft Q&A export file.
- Enable the subscription in the Teamspace where the imported Highlights should appear.
Configuration notes
- The import expects the Microsoft Q&A export format supported by this integration.
- Each processed row becomes a Highlight in NEXT.
- The imported text can include both the question and answer context, which makes it useful for clustering and trend analysis.
Limitations
- The import is only as complete as the export file you provide to NEXT.
- Tag and text normalization follow the mapping logic in the integration code.
- This is file-driven ingestion, not a real-time API sync.
Troubleshooting
- If parsing fails, first verify that the file still matches the expected Microsoft Q&A export format.
- If items are missing, confirm that the source export includes those rows before NEXT reads it.
- If the import cannot access the file, check that the connected Microsoft account still has permission to the source location.
FAQ
What does NEXT create from the export?
Each qualifying Microsoft Q&A row becomes a Highlight with the question, answer, and related metadata needed for analysis.
Is this a live API sync?
No. This integration imports Microsoft Q&A content from the supported exported file format.
Why import this into NEXT instead of keeping it in the original export?
Because once the content is in NEXT, it can be analyzed together with tickets, reviews, calls, and survey feedback instead of staying isolated in a raw export file.
