Generate Memories from Records
Choose what memory generation should optimize for when NEXT AI processes records.
Record mode controls whether AI memory extraction prioritizes precision, broader coverage, or question-structured output from records.
Before You Start
- You must have permission to edit teamspace settings.
- This setting affects future AI-generated memories from records.
Steps
To configure record memory generation:
- Open Teamspace Settings > Prepare with AI > Memories.
- In the Records section, choose the generation mode that matches your goal:
- Focus on memory quality
- Create more memories
- Structure memories by question (Beta)
What Does Each Record Mode Do?
Each mode changes how NEXT AI turns records into memories.
- Focus on memory quality creates one memory per detected insight and prioritizes the strongest supporting evidence. Use this when you want a tighter set of more selective memories.
- Create more memories creates memories for each strong quote tied to an insight. Use this when you want broader coverage and more material to review.
- Structure memories by question (Beta) creates one memory for each interview question and answer. Use this when your team wants memories grouped by the flow of the conversation instead of by detected insights.
When Should I Use Record Modes?
Switch modes based on the tradeoff your team needs for a specific workflow.
- Choose Focus on memory quality when precision matters most.
- Choose Create more memories when you want broader coverage across quotes.
- Choose Structure memories by question (Beta) when your analysis is organized by interview questions or discussion prompts.
Tips
- Keep one default mode per teamspace to make output quality more consistent.
- Re-evaluate mode choice after major workflow changes.
- If your team compares outputs across teamspaces, keep the same mode selected so memory patterns stay easier to interpret.

FAQ
Q: Does this change existing memories?
No. It affects future memories generated from records.
Q: Which mode should I use for higher precision?
Use Focus on memory quality when you want fewer, more precise memories.
Q: Which mode should I use for broader discovery?
Use Create more memories when you want wider theme coverage.
Q: What is the question-structured mode for?
Use Structure memories by question (Beta) when your analysis is organized around predefined questions or interview guides.
Q: Which mode creates the most memories?
Use Create more memories when you want AI to capture more strong quotes connected to the same insight.
Q: Which mode follows the interview flow instead of detecting insights?
Use Structure memories by question (Beta) when you want each question and answer to become its own memory.
