Add Custom Vocabulary

Add custom terms so transcriptions recognize product names, technical words, and uncommon vocabulary more accurately.

This is useful for words that speech-to-text systems often misinterpret, such as product names, technical terminology, or internal team names like 'Kubernetes' or 'QuickBooks'.

Before You Start

  • You must have permission to edit teamspace settings.
  • Vocabulary applies to new recordings only.

Steps

To add custom vocabulary to your teamspace:

  1. Open Teamspace Settings > Prepare with AI > Transcriptions.
  2. In the Vocabulary section, click into the vocabulary text box.
  3. Enter each vocabulary term on its own line.
  4. Click outside the field to save your changes.

When Should I Use Custom Vocabulary?

You should add custom vocabulary when recordings include specialized language that transcription systems frequently mishear.

  • Product names
  • Technical terminology
  • Industry jargon
  • Internal project names

Tips

  • Add product names, company names, or technical terms that speech-to-text systems frequently mis-transcribe.
  • Use one term per line.
  • Changes only affect recordings transcribed after you add the vocabulary.
