Redact PII

Use Security & Privacy to reduce the amount of personal data stored in your teamspace.

PII redaction helps remove sensitive details during transcription and highlight import, and scheduled sanitization helps you automatically clean up new recordings after a set number of days.

Before You Start​

  • You must have permission to edit teamspace settings.
  • Review any internal privacy or retention rules your team follows before changing these settings.

Steps​

  1. Open Teamspace Settings > General > Security & Privacy.
  2. In Personal identifiable information (PII), turn on Redact PII during transcription & highlight import.
  3. Turn on Automatically schedule new recordings for sanitization if your team uses automatic cleanup.
  4. Set the number of days to wait before new recordings are sanitized.

When Should I Use This?​

  • When transcripts or imported highlights may contain names, emails, phone numbers, or other sensitive details.
  • When your team has a retention policy for recordings.
  • When you want privacy controls applied automatically instead of manually reviewing every file.

Tips​

  • Redaction depends on the transcription engine supporting PII redaction.
  • Sanitization permanently removes the related video and audio files for recordings, so use a retention period that fits your policy.
