Generally, your NEXT AI workspace is configured for optimal performance out of the box. In some cases—especially if you signed up self-serve via the website—you may want to change your transcription engine.

For most cases

For most users, AssemblyAI or Gladia are the preferred options. They provide a strong balance of speed, accuracy, and performance.

  • Larger file sizes → choose AssemblyAI.

  • EU data hosting → choose Gladia or AssemblyAI

EU data residency

All our models offer EU data residency:

  • Gladia

  • AssemblyAI

Specific languages

For specific languages (e.g., Swedish), choose Gladia—we’ll automatically switch you to an engine that supports large files when required.

If a recording is transcribed into the wrong language, your current engine may not properly support it. In that case, switch to Gladia.

Large or long files

If you upload recordings over 500 MB or longer than 2:15 hours, you’ll be best off using AssemblyAI.
