Create Chat with Extra Data Sources

Use homepage sources when you want NEXT to include connected feedback systems or knowledge sources before you send the chat.

Selecting sources helps narrow where NEXT should look for supporting information when it answers your question.

Before You Start​

  • Open the NEXT homepage inside the teamspace you want to analyze.
  • Make sure the data sources you want to use are available in your workspace.
  • If a survey source is not available yet, create the required subscription first in Add Subscription.

Steps​

  1. On the homepage, open the prompt options menu.
  2. Enable the connected sources you want NEXT to use.
  3. Add any survey sources or knowledge sources needed for the question.
  4. Continue refining the prompt before you send it.

When Should I Use Sources?​

  • When you want to combine chat with connected survey or app data.
  • When your question depends on a specific feedback channel or knowledge base.
  • When you want to control which connected sources NEXT can use for the answer.
  • When you want to pull from supported survey sources such as Mopinion, Salesforce Marketing Cloud, or Usabilla.

Tips​

  • Enable only the sources relevant to the question so the chat stays focused.
  • Combine survey sources with knowledge sources when you need both user feedback and supporting documentation.
  • Use Configure NEXT to create or import subscriptions before relying on survey sources in chat.

This example enables Usabilla sources for Customer service and Email Feedback, and also turns on Confluence from the homepage chat menu.

Q: Do selected sources stay active after I send a chat?​

Sources apply to the current chat setup. Review them before sending if you want to confirm what NEXT will use.

Yes. You can enable more than one source when the question benefits from multiple connected inputs.
